Cyber Security Engineer

This position provides team leadership to a 4 person engineering team. The team is responsible for designing, testing, and integrating leading edge computer security products into a large enterprise. The team leader also engineers solutions, and will apply 60% of their time engineering solutions. The team lead is our direct interface with the government IT Security Officer (a GS-15 level position).

The team provides engineering services in support of Federal IT compliance requirements and inititatives involving network configuration, such as the Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) initiative.
Provides security engineering support for deployed information systems security systems. Investigates suspected incidents, to include damage containment, evidence preservation, and system recovery. Conduct forensics and specified searches on information systems, examining files, electronic mail, log records, and other artifacts as necessary to develop sound theories to explain user and system behavior. Performs vulnerability assessments on development and operational information systems to include network-, host-, web-, database-, and policy-based tools as provided by the Government and customary open-source tools;
Provides technical support for program needs, tools, applications and directives relating to the classified systems program. Provide technical support and coordination with EOUSA’s Security Programs Staff and USAO personnel to ensure that requisite security requirements and documentation associated with the secret and top secret security systems are in place. Conducts periodic surveys to capture requirements to enhance and improve the security program.
Evaluates new technology and provides recommended solutions to our cutomer.
