BAE Systems is seeking a full time network data engineer for specialized R&D projects. The candidate will be required to perform comprehensive technical analyses, development, scripting, and querying of various network data sets to address the customer's research focus. The candidate will be performing these tasks using SQL, Perl, Python or other scripting languages and may be asked to complete large scale analysis using developmental languages, C#, C++, or Java. These tasks will be in conjunction with other team members but often as individual efforts directed by the customer. Additionally, the candidate will be required from time to time to provide an assessment of the results in a presentation to other examiners or other interested parties.
Required
Excellent understanding of all PC components.
Firm knowledge of computer network architecture.
Operating Systems: Windows, Linux &/or Unix.
Scripting language skills(e.g. Perl, Python, or other)
Development skills in at least one language(e.g. Java, C#, or C++)
Experience and Knowledge of network protocols, netflow data, and related tools.
Experience with SQL and MapReduce.
14+ Years with HS or 10+ Years with AA or 8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS or 3+ Years with PhD
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
Multi-task oriented.
A strong understanding of network data as it relates to security is required.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and as a team focused on customer objectives.
