This specific paid internship will support digital communications within the Intelligence & Security sector’s Communications department.
The candidate will be an active part of a dynamic communications team and will support internal and external digital communications. The role has technical and creative requirements, including:
- Experience with SharePoint 2013; Knowledge of SharePoint lists, workflows, groups, permissions and security, reporting capabilities, document libraries, and site/page creation.
- Experience with add-on products such as MS Office, SharePoint Designer.
- Knowledge of metrics gathering using WebTrends.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Web content updates and management
- Presentation development and graphic design
- Creating surveys and other communications measurement tools
Required Skills and Education:
Must currently be enrolled in an accredited university or college and achieved a Junior status
Enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in SharePoint development, website development, software development, journalism, public relations, communications or mass communications.
3.0 GPA or better
Must be available mid-May through August
Good interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong writing skills and some knowledge of AP Style.
Detail-oriented, organized with some experience in managing projects or events.
Interest in media relations and understanding of the new media landscape.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Skills and Education:
|Graphic design; photo and video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus. |
Familiar with widely used digital tools and social media platforms such as twitter and Facebook.
